Manufacturer: Jotun Paints
This is a two component polyamide cured zinc rich epoxy coating which has a very high zinc dust content. It conforms to the compositional requirements of SSPC paint 20, level 1, ISO 12944-5, BS 4652, BS 5493, and AS/NZS 3750.9.1994. It provides excellent corrosion protection as part of a complete coating system. To be used as primer in atmospheric environments. Suitable for carbon steel, repair of inorganic zinc silicate coating and damaged galvanised steel substrates. This product complies with ASTM D520 type II zinc dust.
The Barrier Range are two-pack zinc rich epoxy primers with a high content of zinc that complies with the compositional requirements for SSPC Paint 20 level 2 and ISO 12944. As a zinc rich primer on blast cleaned steel. Barrier products are used in combination with advanced coating systems to further improve protection against corrosion.

Typical Paint System: Barrier Range 1 x 25 - 90 μm (DFT) followed by subsequent coating(s) by choice e.g. Epoxy, Acrylic or Vinyl.
Other systems may be specified, depending on area of use.
Typical use: Protective: Suitable for structural steel and piping to be exposed to highly corrosive environments, C5I or C5M (ISO 12944-2). Recommended for offshore environments, refineries, power plants, bridges, buildings, mining equipment and general structural steel. Specially designed as a primer in coating systems where extended durability is required. Approved in a range of bridge specifications requiring 90% zinc dust content.
Spray: Use airless spray.
Brush: Recommended for stripe coating and small areas. Care must be taken to achieve the specified dry film thickness.
